So what does everyone think of this film judging by the trailer?

Michael Douglas looks set to dominate just as he did in the 1987 original as Gordon Gekko, the ruthless financial raider.

If you didn't see the Trailer you can catch it on youtube. The story goes...

"Gordon Gekko is released from prison after serving a 20 year sentence for 'insider trading'. He releases a book about his experiences on wall street and his concerns about the coming 2008 financial crisis. Jacob Moore introduces himself to Gordon telling him hes going to marry his daughter, Winnie. Jacob, a stockbroker, agrees to help Gordon fix his broken relationship with his daughter in return for Gordon helping him find out who killed his mentor. The more Jacob and Gordon grow closer, the more his relationship with Winnie becomes distant. As he shoots up the ranks of the financial world he must choose whats mor important....
His love for Winnie or his love for the game"

    Shia laBeouf - Jacob Moore
    Carey Mulligan - Winnie Gekko

Charlie Sheen is also rumoured to make a cameo as Bud Fox, Gekko's former protégé who turned him in

    Yeah...her time has definitly passed

    bring on Carey Mulligan!! ;)

Wall Street 2 looks very stylish. A lot like Michael Clayton in the view of the wealthy business new york lifestyle. Very slick and flashy.

It won't be as good as the original obviously but I am still expecting one of the best films of the year - it got very good reviews at Cannes apparently. Truly appauling decision to cast the dreadful Shia LeBeof - he looks about 15 and has been a lardge factor in ruining virtually every film ive seen him in. A lightweight who looks like a child acting with a heavyweight like Douglas with a legend like Stone directing? One has to wonder how on earth he gets such big roles - he is the total opposite of a leading man - this has a great cast overall so hopefully that will make up for it.

well look at Charlie Sheen ....he was in the same position for the first Wall Street. He could draw in a crowd because he was an up and coming star.

I'm not a fan of Shia laBeouf either, but given that this will be one of the most serious roles of his career so far, I think we are in for a surprise.

For me the original Wall Street is one of the quintessential movies of the 1980s. No doubt Stone has lost his edge in recent years (other than his two President movies (and my guilty pleasure AnyGivenSunday) I haven't really been impressed by anything he's done since NBK ) but I'll still be checking this one out out of curiosity.

Trailer is hillarious. You have your romance scenes, a motorbike chase, a helicopter, two motorbikes etc...just looks like a total ****ing mess judging by that alone.
