    Looking for advice...
I have been offered one of the above courses for free.
I am from an engineering managment background..

Which course stands out to folks as being useful or improve chances of getting a job..

Personally, I'd rate the computer courses higher than the rest. Any of the Microsoft 2007 Certification courses would be of benefit.

I would choose Microsoft Excel. It's quite useful in a range of business environments, and being able to organise data and pull calculations/figures quickly and easily from a data set is a definite plus for anyone's CV.

Possibly not the answer you are looking for but just choose the one you like the most. You are more likely to get a job in that as you will probably enjoy the course more, learn more and thus make yourself more employable.

    Hi

I would agree that the computer courses are best. You do not state if your qualification is in Mech/ Elec/ Civils engineering. If you are in the construction sector I would be gearing towards a course in renewable technology (If you can find a course close to you). There is an excellent FETAC course in Tipperary institute (Level 6) and also in Cavan VEC (Level 5). They hold 10 places for unemployed (no fees). The one in Tipp is just 1 evening per week and the rest is done online with site visits at weekends. its a very practical course and would be of benefit if you want to work in the renewables sector. I was a QS who was about to be laid off and so started a course in renewables to diversify. 6 months into the course and I got 2 job offers as a wind project manager and am now working in the sector for 2 yrs. best of luck!

If you search for "CompTIA" on irishjobs.ie it only throws up one hit  So I'd wonder how useful it is..
