If you were watching BBC coverage yesterday of the Open, you will have heard Peter Alliss on about the Red Dot on Oosthuizens hand. This explains it.

Got an email from the GUI Academy this morning about Karl Morris and went in to read about it.

Says that Morris worked with Oosthuizen as well as McDowell.

    From the GUI site:

"The Open Champion and the Mystery of ‘The RED DOT’

It was probably one of the most amazing examples of mental toughness in sport let alone golf.

Louis Oosthuizen becomes the Open Champion at St Andrews.

Peter Alliss made the remark on commentary that Louis appeared to look at a big red dot on his glove before each shot and then go into a trancelike state!

    Well he did.

About a month before the Open Karl was called up by Chubby Chandler at ISM to work with Louis on his concentration and Mind Factor.

They sat down for the first time in Manchester and talked and it was clear his routine was all over the place."

Wonder what Oosthuizen will do now after his Open win?? Big things?

i wonder how good his focus would have been if he didnt have such a lead , or if some one actually made a run at him.
he said himself he was getting nervous from the 12th hole on.

    We'll never know, will we?

He did a perfect job, and was miles ahead of everyone else.

nice and interesting read there op. Dr Morris has done his cv no harm with mcdowell and now oosthuizen winning majors. Just goes to show what an important factor the mind plays in golf.
