Exercising with a slipped disc and sciatica

    Hi guys,

So as the title suggests I have a prolapsed disc and sciatica so am somewhat limited in what I can do. Doctor and physio both recommend swimming and pilates, both of which I have been doing a lot and really enjoy. I would, however, like to vary things a little. I walk a lot but would like something else although I'm not sure what I should and should not be doing. Doctor said cycling is a no-no which is grand as I'm not a huge fan :pac:

I'm hoping some of you fitness experts can help out :) I like rowing and kayaking, should I be doing this? Also I have a treadmill and a cross-trainer, what about these? Classes such as step aerobics also interest me. I know my limits, I'm not going to go out there and go mad altogether but I refuse to let this affect me more than it should. I want to get back exercising, for the sake of my sanity if nothing else :D

Have to close this. The only person who can safely answer this is your physio / doctor.
