Just thought I would let people know this, I got Vodafone broadband 3 weeks ago on contract with no limit. 25 euros a month. The first week I was getting 4-6mb . after this it went down to 1mb. I didnt move the modem so i rang customer care and they said 1mb is still acceptable. still the same for the next 2 weeks . Went to the vodafone store and put my laptop beside the one in the store, tested both , the store was getting 4.5 and i was getting 1mb.They said that it was because reception differs even though they were 1 inch apart. I followed to cancel my account , and they charged me over 300 euros, because it was after my 1 week cooling off period which was about as long as i had good speed(what a coincidence).

Just said I would post this as a warning , stay away from vodafone.

    Cheers

    It's Mobile, so no connection, 50kbps (0.05Mbps) or 500kbps (0.5Mbps) is acceptable.
The "no limits" appears to charge extra for various kinds of data and have limit of about 10Gbyte a month which is low.

    It's not Broadband.

What they said about reception is totally true, which re-enforces the argument that it's not Broadband.

    I'm on Vodafone with a stick modem 7.2Mbps @€;15 a month ~ it is capped at 5GB.

On the Dublin server I get: 5.71Mb/s Down and 1.54Bm/s Up.

My iPhone 3G gets 0.64MB/s Down and 0.16Mb/s Up on 02.

My Vodafone connection has consistently out performed the 02.

Don't know if there is anything to compare here or not.

Go 5 miles away and it could be the otherway round, or neither good, or both OK.

    Or next week.
