Ballysmuttan Bridge - open for business

Sorry if old news, but I'm happy to report that I noticed yesterday while going up the Gap that Ballysmuttan Bridge has been rebuilt and is crossable again as a single-line bridge. The original old iron bridge was damaged in late 2008 by flooding. Unless you ride often in Wicklow this probably won't be of any interest to…

Sorry if old news, but I'm happy to report that I noticed yesterday while going up the Gap that Ballysmuttan Bridge has been rebuilt and is crossable again as a single-line bridge. The original old iron bridge was damaged in late 2008 by flooding.

Unless you ride often in Wicklow this probably won't be of any interest to you, but if you do, this opens up a couple of different routes between the Blessington Lakes and the Sally Gap. Essentially, you don't have to divert via Manor Kilbride.
