    hey hey,

had to get my 99 opel astra towed to the garage the other day cause the engine seized and the head gasket needs replacing. Its got over 150K on the clock. had trouble with it a few weeks ago (radiator and overheating) and ended up parking it up and using another car for work since then. Ironically decided i couldnt leave it outside anymore and was actually taking it to the garage when it conked out on the way.

Mechanic said it'll cost anywhere between 700 to a 1000 euro to get fixed.

Just wondering if it is worth fixing it or should i just move onto another car instead? I'm mainly just wondering if over time this is gonna cost me more over time.

    The engine is knackered.

You won't get a replacement block fitted for anywhere near 450.

For that price or a small bit more you'd pick up another astra with lower mileage. No point in paying that much when the car is barely worth that itself.
