HELP! Looking for a game...

I played a game MANY years ago. Rented it for a week and loved (for one reason or another). All I can really remember about it is you controlled your "army" of about 3 or 4 people. Some had machine guns and maybe? a flamethrower, etc. The most distinctive weapon was THROWING bundles of dynamite. You would battle the other side and were usually divided by a river or something. The screen was stationary (all men could be seen at all times) and a battle was only minutes long. I remember trying to go back and rent it and it was gone! I never saw it or played it again. I was probably 5 or 6! lol. I have never found it. Made this membership to simply try and track it down! PLEASE HELP! Thank you!

It was Sega Genesis or Super Nintendo. Sorry for leaving that out. Not Gain Ground. Thanks for the fast replies!

I haven't seen that game in ages. I think I had a demo of it at one stage on the PSOne.

God loaded looks awful now. I used to think it looked amazing. It might be a load of arse now but along with wipeout it went a long way to legitimising gaming for the older audience.

Do we need an official "what was that game" thread?

I can't remember of a Sega game I got. It was top down perspective fighting game, looked like Rambo but different. You could use a hawk to scout ahead of you. I had this game in the 1990s before changing it for Terminator versus Robocop.

Doesn't it just. I remember being bowled over when I first seen it - as you said though, it has its place in history.

Playing it in DGen V1.70 Lite, runs well although a little more difficult on a small screen, was trying to get the pc version to run in dosbox but gave up

True Cannon Fodder players play it on the original Amiga, don't you know ;)

As for Loaded, I got the PS at it's PAL launch, and was on nights that evening, so when everything was done, all my residents off to bed, and it was just me and another fellow, a good few years older mind, were there with the tv, I unboxed the PS and went through the demo disc.
There was the famous T-Rex demo and Loaded, but mostly I played Wipeout and Ridge Racer all night!
Oddly, I was also on nights for the N64 launch and the Xbox launch, so I had all night to play the launch titles.

I recently bought Loaded after not playing it in years and it really hasn't aged well alright. It's just an unplayable mess.

We were just all blinded by the 'pretty' graphics.

It seemed like such a huge a leap back then from 2d 16bit stuff. Early 3d graphics from the 32bit era for me are now inferior to the established 16bit graphics of the time.
