Stem lenght?

    Folks I need a smaller adjustable oversized stem,prefferably Ritchey.From where do I take the measurements so I know I'm not buying the same lenght!My back and neck will thank all responses!

    if it doesn't have that, its measured from centre to centre of the holes. Stems come in 10mm increments so a rough measure like that will get you close enough to show which it is.

    If it's not marked on the stem you have,measure from the centre of the steerer clamp to centre of handlebar clamp.(reach in chart below)

    Apologies for going off topic, but dear oh dear, the top left of that diagram is the most unfortunately phallic depiction of a stem, EVER!

    That's not really the case, stock stem length is generally proportional to the size of the bike. The larger the bike the longer the stem. Most of my bikes (58cm) came with 110mm stems (I think you tend to ride 56cm?)

    Mine have been a 58cm bike with 100mm stems iirc.

    Either way, much better answers than mine have been supplied :)

    Thanks guys. I ride a medium Boardman Carbon so 54cm I think.another delivery from Wiggle,that'll be 3 due next week!
