Do you need a return flight booked to be allowed into the country on a WHV?

Have read some contrasting things on this so unsure where I stand. If I arrive in the airport without a flight booked home are they going to send me packing?

Really don't want the expense of a return flight when I've no idea when I'm coming home and already going with minimal money as I've a job lined up over there ( will have the minimum bank balance thanks to a loan that I'll transfer back once I get out there )

As far as I know you don't. In fact I'm almost positive you don't.

No you don't need a return flight.

I went out there on a one-way flight and nothing was asked.
