Three 3G throttling Xbox traffic

Does anyone know whether Three throttle's connections that have xbox 360 traffic running over it?

I have my xbox connected to my PC that connects using Three's 3G.

As we all know 3G is rubbish at the best of times but just lately it appears that if I have my xbox and PC downloading something on the network my download traffic seems to max at 50kB/sec.

If I suddenly disconnect the xbox off the network and just use my PC my dongle light goes light blue (instead of dark blue) and I get my usual 50 - 100 kB/sec

I'm using bitmeter2 to monitor the throughput which seems to be a great little util.

Has anyone else noticed something similar?

Yes I know what you mean but if you haven't got a choice thanks to Eircom there's not much you can do. Having said that, we were playing Halo reach beta no problem for pretty much the whole 2-3 weeks and there were 2 of us playing split screen for most of it :) Xbox seems to be alot better than the Wii though as I can't get a stable connection on Mario kart which is a real shame.

Any way, I digress... I'm not actually playing games in this instance. I'm downloading the Fable 3 vids and Alan Wake episodes currently and surfing on the PC. Xbox connected and I seem to get throttled, xbox off the network and I'm back to normal speed. I guess if the likes of Eircom can pick up on p2p traffic then there's no reason why an ISP can't single out xbox traffic, or is that not the case.

P.S. Dear Eircom, please enable my exchange, I've been waiting patiently for 5 years now, surely I've earned it :) and I promise not to so much as look at a another p2p file...

It's just the extra connection slowing your download.
