    Ireland has been ranked as the fourth best place in the world to die in a new quality-of-death survey carried out by the Economist Intelligence Unit......

    Ireland was ahead of countries such as the US, Norway, Luxembourg and Canada, but fell to 17th place for the quality of the general healthcare environment.

    So we are still spending the money, just not when and where it's needed?
    Looks like we've a habit of 'after the horse has bolted.'

    I never heard this phrase before.

    Seems we must have a good hospice network, that would be one factor.
    And a local priest or chaplain for everyone who wants that.

    As I get older, I am coming to the view that the most important quality issue is the opportunity to postpone it indefinitely.

    As I live endure through this country, watching con-men prosper while ordinary people battle to survive, I'm of the opposite view.

    Whatever comes next* has to be better than this.

    * Even if that's nothing
