Octavia 1.6 Auto??

    Just wondering what sort of a driver would one of these be?
    The one in question would be a '08, AMBIENTE 1.6 5DR TIP 102HP

    Would it be as dead as a maggot??
    would it guzzle petrol??

    No to both IF it's a DSG. If it's not it'd be slow enough but not too bad on the petrol.

    Would i be correct in saying it would be DSG being a '08 car?
    Or was auto OR DSG an choice?

    Think it's the old 4 speed tiptronic...not going to be too great. Drove that set up in a Bora before...lot's of rev's and a huge thrist. I take it you're getting that gold one they have there while you're waiting for yours;)

    It's going to be fairly dead and thirsty, but you're not racking up big miles and if it's only temporary, it's probably going to be OK to drive.

    While on the phone the other day I was told they would sort me with a car while waiting my vRS, Possibly an Auto
    I did a quick look around and this was the only auto i could see in stock
    As it happens on the week of 21st - 28th Aug I am going up around wexford etc for a break. I just don want something that will drink more than me on the trip :D
    I will have 4 adults onboard and a boot full of luggage to carry :o

    I can get 45 to the gallon an a leisurely cruise with that engine fairly easily. With the autobox I don't know...if it's 4 speed it could be crap...at least it's got parking sensors to help with the big boot out the back:D

    ...you'll find that has a bigger effect than whether it's auto or not, on your juice bill..........

    The "TIP" in the description kinda gives it away it's a tiptronic :p

    On a serious note, surely these weren't 4-speed? In 1988 maybe but not in 2008???
