Meath Kerry game 1980s question.

    I'm tryin to figure out the year that Meath and Kerry played a particular game that I remember being at. Early half of 80's. I had thought it was in the Centenary Cup in '84 but apparently we bet Monaghan in the final and didnt play Kerry in the competition. I remember Kerry wore Munster blue, and Meath wore Leinster green/white. I watched from the lower Cusack nearer the hill and thats where the memories end.

    Yep. Meath's first semi for years and Ogie Moran scored a fortuitous goal.

    cudabin cudabin, we won Leinster alright that year, its the particular day though that we wore those strips that I'm after so need someone who was there who remembers if you know what I mean....dont think we wore provincial colours in 2001 semi ?

    great so thats it, great clip and doesnt look that old either, I've been tellin people for years how we won the Centenary cup in '84 beating Kerry wearing those strips and I've been talkin thru me ar$e the whole time, too much goin on in the head after all these years

    Kerry wore white that day, first time changing from blue afaik.

    Think it was Ger Power who scored the goal. Meath were in the game until just before half time but Kerry scored 3 points in injury time at the end of the first half and that was that.

    Could have been. Was definitely a lucky goal tha turned the game. Think the Meath mix was between McQuillan, Cassels and ???. Both teams were definitely wearing provincial jerseys that day though.
