    Hi,

hoping someone can help. I will be buying an iPad soon, but don't want to fork out extra for the 3g model, wifi only will do me.

So my question is, anyone know of an app I can get for my Desire to create a wireless hotspot that the iPad can then utilise, or is this impossible?

    Thanks.

Root your phone, upgrade to a 2.2 Rom and use the stock 2.2 Wifi hotspot app.

Thanks, ill look into this. So, from the point of view of the iPad, this would just be the same as any normal wifi signal?

Just making sure, as I know apps such as PDAnet connect either via usb-won't work as iPad doesn't have usb
or bluetooth- won't work as iPad has a poxy restricted bluetooth

Also, so I take it there is no app in the marketplace for this, I will have to root yeah?

    Thanks.

    You have 2 options:

    1) Just root your phone and keep your stock 2.1 ROM and use this.

    2) Root your phone and install a 2.2 ROM which nativelly supports wifi tethering.

Both work fine, with my ipad, though I am sure the stock 2.2 version is probably more stable, more polished and more power efficient as its stock from Google.
