Redundancy Entitlements

Worked for the same company for 14years. 3 years ago got sick, spent 2 years having treatment. Employer kept my job open for me and when I wanted to come into work they let me work half days and were very flexible. However my consultant advised me to give up work. My employer issued me with my p45 at my request, I think they always thought I would be back to work in some capacity. I am now on sick benefit. Would I be entitled to redundancy?

Hmm, redundancy would normally only come in when the work lets you go due to not enough work which is not the case this time. Don't know how it would be treated in this case though but spontaneously I'd say most likely not.

thanks, need to find out for sure before I ask ex employer. They were very good to me and I don't want to appear greedy.

I would think not, as your employer has not let you go (e.g due to no work for you).
