looking at buying a newish car.... was thinking of a suzuki sx4, then realised the fiat sedici is pretty much tha same car.. so i'm left with a choice between an sx4 glx 2WD or a fiat sedici glx 4WD.. both for the same price

does anyone know if the sedici is as reliable etc as the sx4 or is it as bad as other fiats?? i really want the 4wd but not at the expense of having to get it fixed cnstantly...

As far as I know they are built at the same factory where at the end of the line some guy either sticks a Fiat or a Suzuki badge on it :D

pick the one you like more if 4WD is not something you really need.

Is it petrol or diesel? AFAIK all of the petrol engines are Suzuki and well proven.
The 1.9 Diesel in the Fiat is a Fiat engine, well proven and also used in Opels and Saabs so you shouldn't have any difficulty finding a mechanic familiar with them.
The 1.6 Diesel in the Suzuki is a bit of a mystery, it's been around since before Fiat launched their 1.6 Diesel, the VW 1.6 is newer again, it could be the Ford/PSA lump in which case it is well proven but otherwise it's origin unknown as I don't think Suzuki will have big enough sales to have merited them developing one.
