Well lads I think my fathers EGR valve is gone but I have a question. There is what looks like a breather pipe coming off out of that little pipe sticking out of it or is it a breather pipe? The pipe is just hanging out and I cant see where it should be. Anyone know? Does this run off engine vacum like a diaphram? Or is it…

the valve is fully electronic. thats only a breather pipe, it doesnt go anywhere

Yeah checked it this morning against another golf and your right. Need to replace it as it is dangerously down on power while accelerating and the epc flashes.
