Anyone on here know if it is possible to claim job seeker's allowance during the Summer months when doing a PhD i.e. the period in between 'full time' study when one is naturally fulfilling all the conditions of looking for and being available for work?

    PhD's are full time, ie 12 months/year.

Yes you can claim it during the summer months. Just make out that you're looking for daytime work over this period. Obviously if you get a scholarship you can't
