Is a call-out the normal process?

I live alone and recently applied for Disablity Benefit, I missed a call out by a welfare inspector earlier today that was not announced beforehand, I was just wondering, is it normal to do this and do they have the right to to fully inspect your house or is it just a simple meeting? Does anyone know?

Did anyone here ever experience it?

This is normal in the case of anyone applying for a means tested benefit payment.

They will talk to you and go over details of your application form.

They will not search through your rooms.

Do you know this for a fact? Is there anyone here who work as an Inspector or has been through the whole process who would know? I applied for Disability not a life alone allowance?
