Got a leaflet in the door advertising "INCOME OPPORTUNITY" 'Imag!ne Wimax'.
According to the blurb they "have created a way for anyone to earn extra income that requires no selling."
They are holding an information meeting in Riverside Park Hotel tonight at 8pm.
If the rest of the posts on boards about Imagine W!Max are anything to go by I can't see anyone making extra income from it. I could be proved wrong and they have improved the service but won't hold my breath.

they were here in carlow too the other day offering up to7mb unlimited download broadband with anytime calls and €40 for the motorola wimax box thing all for €35/month but after doing some further checking the proper price for all that should be €45/month, mistake or underhand sales technique?

the whole thing reminded me too much of clearwire so i told the sales rep to go away then f%&* off as he started to get very pushy saying if i was happy to lose money etc etc

    Imagine's "unlimited" is 30Gbyte

    UPC's "unlimited" about 250Gbyte
Vodafone's "unlimited" might be 10G byte. Charges up to 820 Euro per Gigabyte for out of contract traffic.

Digiweb Metro 8Mbps (mostly close to 8Mbps) Cap is a clearly stated 30 Gbyte. with throttle for over cap till 20% under cap.

Has anyone anything good to say about Imagine wimax? I was actually considering it. What I have now is from a moast on a hill 10 miles away. I says 1mb, and Im actually getting 1.25 most of the time, but its €35 per month just for that.

Surely Imagine would deliver better than that....and its cheaper?? What should I do??!!!

10 days on from Imagines public meeting/showcase on wimax,I'd say the knock on the door from the reps' isn't far away. Most people in Enniscorthy won't have a clue about it apart from a catchy ad.Hope they knock my door, let's see the rep answer my questions.

The big marketing/selling blitz hit town last week-seemed to be limited to just the East of the town which was strange, did anyone get it installed and whats the feedback on it's performance so far?

I had reps in my house 3 months ago. Mr Dermot from Permanet company was saying that enniscorthy is live already and i need to sign contract today to receive my gear in next 2 weeks. Then after month i rang wimax asking whats the story? I was told then that enniscorthy is going live 13th of september which i said was ok for me. Month later there was no sign of it so i rang them again and i was told next month..... etc etc. Im now after talking to them thru phone and after chattin with them ignorants by website i heard again next 2 weeks ....... When i asked to cancel my contract sales representative never said anything again .... so chat was finished. Ive saved print screen out of that conversation to have proof in future that i was tryin to finished that. They are ignorant, lying and non profesional people. Stay away from them!!!! What kind of company is sending sales representatives to your home to tell lies??? AGAIN S T A Y A W A Y F R O M T H E M

You mentioned Permanet in your post-Permanet are a completely different company and have nothing to do with Imagine or their Wimax service.I have Permanet myself for past few years and have never had a problem with it,the service is Fixed Wireless and a hell of a lot more stable and reliable than Imagine Wimax.

You are writing about Imagine. WiMax is a family of technologies, not a company.

WiMax is a bunch of Technologies. Some Good, some not so Good and some are sometimes badly applied.

Many companies in Ireland use Various WiMax systems.

    Who do you mean?

Im writing about Imagine. Dont know anything about quality of service they are providing, just saying about lies and stupid promises they are making to customers. Whats the point to say that eeniscorthy is already live and connected in august if we have november and there is no sogn of it??? But from other side if their sales representatives and costumer support are like that, imagine what kind of broadband is that!

There is a reason why all the "Imagine WiMax" posts are here in Midband and not in Broadband.

You might be right. Is anyone here who have that at home at the moment? Is this really so bad or that broadband is ok ? Whats the quota on it? Anyone has any ideas about it. Im looking for a cheaper substitute of eircom. Bills are killing me now, with the NGB they start to charge for overusage.....:(

It's a minor charge for overusage than Mobile charges.
