A close relative of mine has been a cancer sufferer for 16 years now. She´s about to start her third round of quimmotherapy, has a 9cm tumour and is wondering what she can do to help from a nutritional/supplemental/life style point of view. She´s 62. Thanks in advance :)

I'm so sorry to hear that Iris.

Unfortunately I think anything we could advise would be deemed too close to medical advice which would contravene the rules of the forum.

Wish your relative my very best though. xx

I was thinking along the lines of omega 3 supplementation, Vit D supplementation and the likes

The Macmillan foundation have something on their website about this, you can see it here, it's transcript of a webinar thingy.

Any supplements or OTC medication that she is going take should be run past her doctor before you begin. Certain ordinary things are contra-indicated in some cancer treatments (they may use the same metabolic pathway as her drugs for example).

Best of luck to her in her battle with cancer.

Oh for sure, we already asked about the Vit D and Omega 3 and she was given the go-ahead but thanks

Hi OP. You really should tell your relative to get dietary or nutritional advice from a medical professional.

    Take care,
