    Hi,
I just bought my first car its only a micra, http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/1405707 and I just got insurance quote for it at €1200 as a named driver on my mums policy, that seems pretty good to me. It included full no claims protection for my mum and driving of other cars once I get my full licence, motor rescue plus, and fully comp. I think that that is pretty good. Only received my provisional and I am only 17. So do you think that thats a good quote

Can't see you getting a better quote than that. Which insurer was it?

I got 6 months insurance-full comp as a named driver and 11 driving lessons with Hibernian for about €650 when I was learning to drive two years back (wow how time flies :)). Granted it was only six months but driving lessons will cost you an absolute fortune.

I would make absolutely sure of all the above. Until you read it in your policy document I wouldn't take it at face value.

You are a named driver on your mothers policy correct? I have never before heard of a named driver being insured to drive other cars based purely on being a named driver on another policy.

And additionally, I would seriously doubt such a policy would give such privileges to a young fully licensed driver, especially fully comp.

Now i could be wrong, all i will say is make sure you read your policy document and clarify, if you're unsure call AXA
