    Hey,

A recruitment consultant recently suggested to me that I should be following up a particular job application with a phone call, have never done this hence why I may still be unemployed after 4 months.

I have no issue doing this but I am just wondering what exactly you would say to the particular employer, "did you get my applications?" or what?

    Thanks

    Jockey

Thank them for giving you the opportunity to interview for said position.

    Has this worked for you?!

Not sure if it worked or not but any job I've ever gone for I've got.

Think of it this way, they are interviewing numerous candidates, most of whom they'll forget or probably are all very similar, By calling them for this reason you are(provided you are courteous and polite on the phone), putting their attention back on your application (for good reason).

It shows your interest in the position and speaks volumes for your character.

No harm, give a quick call OP

Just thank them for their time (and mean it as the manager is busy and did give up their time) and say you look forward to hearing from them.

I've emailed to say thanks, seems to have worked well in the past.
