    Hi Folks,

I've gotta get a new tyre to pass my NCT as i failed because my back tyre didn't have 'E' mark!

Anyway i've now gotta get rid of a perfectly good rear tyre (perfect condition and thread dept etc) and put a new one on if i want the car to pass tomorrow...

So could anyone recommend decent place to get good value (and quality) tyres pref in North Dub area??

    Thanks
    DrF ;-)

Pat Clifford Tyres on the Clontarf Road, i got 2 new tyres, one front, one back, and got them switched around (so the 2 news ones were on the front) all for €120. pretty good deal and sound to deal with.

Thanks for that! Actually found a place around Swords (Baskin area) where i got a new one for €50 which seems pretty decent. They were advertising some for around €35 as well if anyone else is looking.

www.tyreland.ie in Glasnevin Industrial Estate (off Finglas Road). Part used, big brands, min 5mm tread, guaranteed, from €40. No connection, btw.

Cue all the "I'd never put s/h tyres on my car...." posters.

My stock response - if you buy a second-hand car, do you immediately replace all the tyres? Didn't think so....

Edit: I presume you or the NCT tester checked they don't have the E mark on the inside?

There generally hasnt been a reason to have them taken off the car, but if someone did decide to take off a supposedly perfectly good set of tyres...........
