clearing for area aid

    i see alot of farmers clearing ground of bushes and whins from rough ground and around knos, is this cause they are loosing this ground in area aid because of the cut backs in payments ,if so when does it need to be cleared up by ....if anyone can explain that would be great

    It was supposed to be cleared by May 31st I believe. That is the date on the area aid form that you claim that the land applied on was being farmed by you.
    People who left it until after this date risk penalties in their payment as an unclear area could have been detected on the satellite map system. But i don't know on how strict they are going to enforce this rule.

    well i wonder could u start clearing now for next year or is there a date that u can or cant do this either

    I understood that if you reduced the area that you applied for this year, then you cannot remove the scrub/bushes and increase the amount that you apply for next year. ie. You cannot increase the amount that you apply for next year. I may be wrong, but this is what I understood from it.

    Well I hope you are wrong as I understood the opposite. Now you have me concerned, as I reduced my area due to some scrub etc,. I planned to have it 100% cleared for next year, and then increase my area on next years application. Must try look it up again:eek:

    I asked my planner if I could remove a parcel this year and add it in next year and he told me that i couldn't. I got it cleared off before the end of may. I don't know if he was right or wrong, the conditions were very confusing for everyone involved.
