I have BOI shares held in certificate form.
However trying to sell them the last few days has not been easy!!!

Share watch and Compushare (who seem to be the same company) are telling me they no longer will sell certified shares.

Anyone any idea what broker I could use to sell them?
Im not a big investor so cannot afford to have loads of accounts with different brokers!!!

Hi katie I sold share certificates before through sharewatch but I would not recommend them.

Its going to cost you one way or another. The only option I see is to ask someone with a full broker account to sell them for you.

Failing this you will have to open an account, if you don't find a broker that deals in certs. On a side note its again more bad service from sharewatch by providing you with the cert and now refusing to take it back!

BTW Sharewatch and Compushare are separate companies. One is the broker (SW) the other is the share registrar (CS). Sharewatch deals under direct sharedeal ltd also.

Try Fexco, I've heard that they will take paper certificates - fexcostockbroking.com

Fees are likely to be high though.

my advice for what its worth is to stick them in a drawer and forget about them for the next 10/20 years you never know they could oneday go back up to the stupid levels they were once at.icon12.gif
