Is there any bus service which stops at Eyrecourt? No luck through Bus Eireann Galway.
Is it served by a private operator?
Trying to find out for a tourist coming over soon.
    Thanks, Grellan

427 used to run via Portumna, not sure anymore ... try calling them?

    http://www.kearnstransport.com

Will get you to Portumna at least but only twice a day.

427 looks to have been axed!? So no Bus Eireann service to Portumna ... thats a bit mad!

I hope that it's possible to get there from the Ballinasloe end?

It seems to be a forgotten corner of the county - can anyone fill me in as to what's of interest aroundabout.

    Thanks for yr replies, Grellan

    The 427 is gone.

There doesn't appear to be any local bus services in that area any more other than Kearns services from Galway and Dublin to/from Portumna.

There may be a rural transport initiative but I can't find any details online.

Best bet either get train/bus to Ballinasloe and a taxi or bus to Portumna and a taxi.

I will tell them that so.

    Thanks again .

I went out with a girl from that part of the world and tbh I'm not surprised there's no bus: there's not a whole lot happening in Eyrecourt (always felt a bit weird to me tbh).

Very cut off anyway. The Galway Blazers hunt around there, a tractor festival in summer, Oh, and the GAA club. Can't find out about anything else.
Anything else of interest - how far away are Lough Derg and the Shannon?
No good pubs or a hotel??

We always went to Banagher for a drink, quite a nice place and even a bit cosmopolitan with the tourists passing through on their shannon cruisers.
