Panasonic SDR-S50 or JVC GZ-MS120?

I bought the JVC after a lot of looking around for the best cam for the price I wanted to pay. After a week I noticed there was a dead pixel on it and it was annoying as hell, so I brought it back. I did`nt even get to use it bar looking around the settings etc. They shop I got it at did`nt have any more left but he said I should check out the Panasonic one it is a much better cam for €40 more.
I was`nt sure at the time cause I never read up on it but he assured me that it was the better cam, so I took his word and bought it.
When I got home and shot some clips and watched it back on the pc I was shocked how bad the picture was, compared to the JVC.
I had it on the highest setting and still the picture is grainy and there`s lines like you would see on an old VHS tape here and there.
So my question is which is the better cam to go with, I think I got jipped.
There`s not that many picture settings in the JVC that improved the picture.
Should I go back and get the JVC back or what, thanks for any advice.
