    Hello.

    The mate is looking for a change of car. He will be buying straight. He seen this on Done Deal. It so happens it belongs to a friend of a friend of his. Im not a car expert but what ye think of this regards price etc:

    not sure about the price but everything else seems bang on, id believe the mileage considering its decent condition , your mates in a good position to buy and there a nice reliable (albeit a little unspirited in the drive) of a car

    I agree with you especially about the unspirited bit.:) He has a 97 corolla saloon at the minute so its a big come up..

    Coming up from 97 corolla, he will think its a great car & he will go around telling people it has fabulous handling & power & spec without ever sitting in any competitors cars. This is what keeps people buying toyotas. They dont try anything else.

    Looks a good car, however the 1.6 is dog slow for this size of car and was only available on the Irish market because our tax system at the time favoured low cc cars.

    I know but I told him try a few passats in the 2.0tdi but anything in his price range had huge mileage. It would be a fair bummer to buy a yoke for 9 grand and then it breaks your heart after having a reliable trouble free car..

    Straight looking car , I reckon his asking about 1k to much given its a private sale. You can buy the same car from a garage for around the same money.
