    Hey ya!

    Here are a few tips.

Broadband: What are the possible types of broadband? do you have to get it through the phone line or can you get UPC (NTL). Make sure the broadband you choose has an unlimited amount of downloads as sharing broadband in a house means you'll quickly run over caps of 30-50 GB.

Heating: Is it gas, oil or electrical. Stay clear of storage heaters (electrical). These run on teh electricity bill and aren't very effective they cost a fortune. the best is probably gas heating as this is the cheapest. This includes shower, check if it runs of emersion or electrical.

Electricity: the times I have been ripped off by ESB try to swap it to Airtricity if it isn't already.

Locks: Have the locks been changed since the last owner/occupier. Make sure you get to witness the locks being changed. Otherwise anyone can walk into your house and help themselves to your belongings.

Bins: Stickers or wheelies. Stickers are more expensive I think but you can use any size bin bag you want.

Noise: What kind of area is it what are your neighbours like? If they are very quiet maybe you'll be too noisy for them which could cause problems. Or alternatively the neighbours might be head wrecks who are constantly partying (even during exam time!)

    Hope that helps ;)
