I used to think it was the capital letter for Polish but yesterday i went into Aldi and the Polish remover had a capital letter.I have never been so upset or disturbed in my life.I used to think i had a good command of the english language.

What's going to happen next ?

the same way you do with Reading and reading I guess, by using context.

As in "I went to Reading last week to buy some polish and I saw a Polish man reading a book."

No, that was indeed an ethnic cleansing spray. You weren't mistaken, and your command of the English language is just fine.

Try getting a big guy from Poland's face and use it to shine your shoes, I don't think you'll ever confuse the two again.......
