I'm also interested in this. I'm planning on going to a dietician in a few weeks when I get my weight down and try to optimise my diet to the max. I was thinking that I could get a blood test from the dietician but I'm not certain.

As far as I can remember, you can get tests for individual vitamins, but they are hellishly expensive. I had a head-to-toe physical a while ago, and asked about tests for vitamin D levels. I was told it would have to be a special order and would cost something like €80 extra.

They are not things your dietician can just knock off for you. Also, since most vitamins are water soluble and don't hang around long, you are going to get a snapshot that mostly reflects what you ate in the last couple of days.

The test for vitamin D is called 25 - hydroxy vitamin d and will check your blood levels for vitamin d only. It costs money but well worth it seeig as we get nowhere near enough sun in this country year round and most of the population is deficient in it. Its hard to get the rda from food alone all the time and the general supps out there do not contain enough for people in more northern latitudes

Vitamin B is water soluble which means you pass the excess in urine. A good b complex is something to consider for those vegans and those who dont eat a lot of grains. Vit C is water soluble too

Vitamin A, K, D and E are fat soluble meaning you build up stores in your body.
