1 - have a seat-belt anchor replaced (fitting only, not including part)

2 - have a door lock replaced (fitting only, not including part)

3 - have a crankshaft sensor replaced (fitting and part)

Have to pay for this today and don't know how much it is, hoping to have a rough estimate in mind. Thanks.

By the way, its a 2000 Renault Clio

bump. I know this is a very quick bump but i'm going to pay for it in about 15 minutes and wouldn't mind some suggestions, as approximate as they might be

Not bollox to his estimate of 60-80, bollox to the fact that i paid 120.

Thanks for that. I asked the ****er before the ****er fitted the ****ing parts. The ****er didn't know initially that there was a ****ing fault with the ****ing crankshaft sensor so couldn't give me a reliable ****ing estimate.

I don't know. I wanted the car to run without cutting out, which its now doing. Thats great and i'm happy with that, but i don't want to pay more than i should for it, which it looks like i did

no offence to Rover james here... but u are bitching and moaning about a job being overcharged based on one loose estiamte of labour costs by someone who never seen you car ????

    seriously deep breaths....

how many hours labour did he charge you for, for this work?

He's not that kind of mechanic! He seemed to have a figure in his head that he thought was fair.

To be fair to him, he's a nice guy and he has operated in this way for as long as i've known him. I don't think he'd purposely overcharge me, but if i thought i was paying too much i don't think i'd go back to him again.

see ther is the problem... you dont know if he overcharging you...
you are taking one comment from here and accepting it as being accurate, from a person who experience in repairs you dont know, who hasnt seen your car... over your mechanic...

one piece of advice.... when in doubt second opinion is worthwhile, but bring the car to a seperate mecahnic to look at the car...

Here's my take on your repair bill

1 - have a seat-belt anchor replaced (fitting only, not including part)
    20 min charge

2 - have a door lock replaced (fitting only, not including part)
30 min charge ( dorr card ect to come off i am assuming

3 - have a crankshaft sensor replaced (fitting and part)
This is a tough one, part costs looking at ebay... vary from £20 stg to £60 stg...so say it cost him €50 and 1 hour labour, includes time to get part..

    then €120.00 not too bad

Have to pay for this today and don't know how much it is, hoping to have a rough estimate in mind. Thanks.

Also factor in that RJ misread the initial post and so was thinking that the crankshaft sensor was also fitting only :D

Thats a fair point. I was kind of stuck at the time though. Car had broken down and took it straight to this fella, so didn't really get a chance to seek a second opinion
