They're being saved from death though, but airsofters will just invariably bitch about bang kills unless they're in their favour. Sad really but that's the reality.

I disagree if you get a bang kill take it what the problem you respawn i really don't understand why some people have major problems regarding bang kills any time I have offered one I am in the position to shot and will do if not excepted but never on FA .

I'm not disagreeing with you. :)

So how do we as a community rectify this issue?

    Me neither:)

If there was a rule for all the sites to follow regarding them and players got away from the "weakness" or "I'm gonna cause him pain" mentality and stopped moaning when someone has got the drop on them we'd be grand I feel:) But as usual we'll all debate here, reach a mutual conclusion about it, go to a site and realise nothing has changed and we've wasted our time..so in short..I've no idea :P.

I didn't disagree with Rhino, what I said was players will moan about any incarnation of the bang rule which is the usual sequence of events.

Well we've a few options, we can debate the for, against, rules & regulations, come to a conclusion & then:
    i) Ask site owners for their opinions & see what happens.
ii) See can we get an extra rule added to our favourite site, by popular request or
iii) Ask the IAA to look into same & create a uniform regulation gaming guidelines for skirmish sites to include the bangkill. ( sorry guys )

The third option would be the best option in an ideal world but it will probably always be a bone of contention in the game no matter what happens.:o

Slightly changing the senaro here but would like to hear what you think.

Last year i an opponent got me with the bang rule, i was eager at the time as i was only starting off in airsofting so fair to say i made alot of noise down a forest "by stepping on every twig " . Then the oponent was hiding very well inside a bush and shouted "band bang" so i looked around, didnt see anyone and i called "hit" cos i didnt see him and popped his hand out to wave at me to rub it in, in a funny sense of course. I was at least 2 metre away from him when he got me.
As i waited in the safety zone to rest up and reload for next round, less than 5 min later the guy that got got hit and was at the safety zone.
As i made my way to talk to him (he had a well l96 and a chrome M9, all i wanted to talk to him about was about the m9......drooooollll......sry back on topic) he openly and mockingly boasted how he got a bang kill (ME:mad:) when he was out of ammo. Then he saw me and didnt change his tune and i asked about his m9 and then in a joking kind of way " did you really get me with the bang rule with any ammo" to which he replied yes, that my l96 wasnt working after 3rd shot and he only had one clip for his m9 and when he emptied the clip, he decided to hide in a bush.
After learning this i kinda felt confused in weither or not i should have taken the hit if he was empty.
But out of curtesy i accepted the hit.
Just wanted to hear your opinion on this, can you call bang when your empty..?

if he was out of ammo or had a non functional aeg or sniper or what ever he had no right calling bang kill ,
    then boasting about it

This Xbox live culture has to end

Some people seriously need to cop on to themselfs and grow up

    Devil's Advocate:

You're asking a player to surrender with the Bang kill. It is their choice whether to take it or not. So yes, in theory you shouldn't offer a chance to surrender if you can't enforce it - as it's dangerous to yourself if they choose not to surrender. So if you don't take the bang kill, and they cannot shoot you, it backfired on them.

I still say that it is not an online gaming culture that causes this. It is the ego, pure and simple. People believe everything they touch turns to gold, that they have the power, and "Can kill anything that moves in 6 bullets"

If you want to address the problem, it all comes down to how the rules are given in the briefing etc.

PS: Some random food for thought; if it became the surrender rule, rather than Bang, it could introduce some awesome P.O.W scenarios in the game. Team leader realises his 2 scouts are M.I.A, so can change the goal to rescuing 'em behind enemy lines. It would be a very organic game :)

the problem though is what advantage would it give the capturing team?
    Sounds really interesting though :D

It takes the players out of the game - a pretty good advantage :D

It Would give your side a advantage as you are taking there numbers down . but i kinda view the bang rule that way anyway i have ammo and i have the AEG pointed at the guy i offer the bang too if he decides to not take it and try shot me i'll shoot him first as more then often enough i am behind him or in a position that i was able to get the bang kill in the first place.

Only ever had one problem with a bang kill and that was when both sides offered it at the same time so we both called hit and walked off instead of arguing.

What about this. If you really want to use the bang-kill and not be accused of cheating or being a dick:

If you have the shot (can clearly see the other person down the sights)but you are too close (within 10 feet and ), fire one shot close to them and call bang at the same time. Then put your sights back on the person. Calling the bang at the same time as the shot is the crucial bit here. It should not be used if you aim, miss and then decide to call bang. That would just be cheating.

This way, you are demonstrating that your gun is loaded and capable of being fired. If they accept the bang-kill, they respawn, call for a medic or whatever. If they don't accept it, you can give thenm one shot to the body.

Now, If the head is the only thing sticking out, lather, rinse and repeat (i.e. do it again).:D If they still refuse to acknowledge the bang-kill, one shot to the head.

If the Bang-kill is a courtesy on a site, People need to have this explained to them before the game starts. If you choose not to accept the bank-kill, then letting people know before the game starts would help.
