Can someone tell me why Australia are 100/1 to get the rights to host 2018?

With Blatter's mentality of bringing the WC to each continent surely they should be nearly favourites?

Even the logo is better than South Africa's...

    I cannot wait!!!

My money will most likely be going on Brazil for this I think. Maybe Argentina but I will see how their squad/manager are looking in 4 years.

If that German squad develops as well as they performed this year - they will be real contenders

Blatter basically told them they have a better chance for 2022 so they have applied for both but a european nation is expected to get 2018 and an asian/oceania nation to get 2022

What he said plus I'm pretty sure I read the Aussies say they would throw their backing behind England for 2018. Actually thought they'd pulled out when they said that.

Checked my diary and yep I am free. Bring it on.

And Ireland to qualify this time....... it's been too long now. Can you imagine the craic we'd have down there ......."25,000 pints caipirinha and a red lemonade por favor garçom"

I lost my bollix on Brazil in this WC and I will back them again next time around especially playing at home.

Big on Brazil and medium on Germany, depending on how the squad develops.

My God I hope Ireland get to this, Brazil would be some craic to go to for a WC, and I'll be missing the Euro's if we get there 'cause of the fcuking Leaving Cert.

Just put my life savings on Liechenstein at 9999/1.
Ano,but Ghana at 250/1 looks nice for a few each way,you never know.

If you don't mind tying a few quid up back England at 20/1

They will be a single figure price come 2014 so you can arb. Just 4 years to wait :D

I reckon England will have a poor team by then, even worse than now. I wouldn't be surprised to see them at 16/1 or so at the time, obviously that could change over the next 3 years and eleven months though.

Or what about the Swedes at 400/1 - seems a ridiculously high price. They may not win it but there would likely be serious arb opportunities closer to the event!

What are the odds on Ireland? I would be happy to stick a few quid down on that for patriotic zeal and I am sure Paddy P would be happy to take my money too :D
