hey there guys

Ok im having an issue with my screen

This was given to me by a friend and asked me if i could repair it, since iv done many desktops i thought i'd give the laptop a shot
anyway

its a dell XPS studio 1340 , XP

basically she said the screen wasnt turning on it but it was booting up fine, so she brought it to the repair guy and he said its the screen it needs replacing

so before buying a new exact lcd screen i tinkered around for a while as in
i plugged it into another monitor and checked the cables and so on

so when the lcd screen came in, its still blank

is this now a motherboard issue or a fried circuit or something?
