Tell him to get a solicitor.

And if he has been caught with anything like this before, tell him to pack an overnight bag when he goes to court.

First it's probably not a summons but a charge sheet.

Second of all, for that amount of drugs its not funny at all.

Your friend is likely going to go to prison and deservedly so. You usually hear of people getting the probation act, fine etc. for a small amount of pills. 1500 is not small.

Would it be a stretch too far to say that you had a lucky escape, I'm sure you and your friends like to help each other out.

"your friend" is nothing but a scumbag drug dealer and is no different that the scum selling heroin on the street. He will almost certainly be heading to prison and when this happens then it will be funny

He will be sent for trial in the circuit court. The District judge will wash his hands as he cannot pass a sentence of over 12 months.

I will be watching Naas circuit court with interest in the coming months.

OP everything you've heard here is correct - your friend will be handed his arse for that quantity of pills , overnight bag definitely required for court.

A tad off topic , but does that restriction still exist - I thought that was lifted some years ago ?

Your ****ed lad.. They have a court at oxegen so they would of delt with it there if it was small.. But with it being so big you have to go to circuit court. You will be going for a while at least a year Id say..

1500 pills is alot.. the court will see you as a dealer.

Scum. Should be caged for 10 years. Probably hasn't a clue was in those pills. Hope he's a middle class gimp who has spent too much time watching gangsta films: he'll meet his match in the slammer and beg to be put alongside the paedos.

Great to hear about airheads like this getting caught.

According to the British Medical Association ecstasy is as dangerous aspirin.

There's a big difference between an ecstasy dealer and heroin dealer, or even an alcohol dealer.

Alcohol destroys far more lives than heroin. but it's lovely middle-class people who own the licences to deal the poison, so it's "good".

Ecstasy use is less dangerous than horse riding. Thousands of people safely enjoy ecstasy. The war on drugs is immoral. The average publican is responsible for more deaths than the combined death toll for every ecstasy dealer who ever lived.

On the totem pole of destroyers of life, the ecstasy dealers rides pretty low. Much lower than the swindlers and pickpockets who run the country.

I don't like rugby or boorish rugby fans - I'm not screaming for it to be outlawed.

Your friend might get very lucky. Depends on how the quantity is written up - depends on the mood of the judge. Everyone caught at the festival with stuff will get called on the same day, they usually just fine people. Even people who have quantities that might otherwise see jail time.

1,500 is a lot of pills. What was he thinking carrying that much?

Could get two or three years. Even six for that quantity.

Ecstasy is a gateway drug. So your argument falls flat on that. Hope he gets maximum sentence. The OP is ****ting himself I'd say after reading all the responses!
