    Hey,

Just wondering if any of you Craftys out there can help me source some stuff. I'm having issues locating them online, and dont really want to spend a fortune.

I'm based in Limerick by the way.

    So am looking to get;

Stabiliser / Tear away backing = the stuff you put behind fabric before you embroider over it, to give it strength.

Blank Aperture Cards = A6 size with a fairly big cut out. Any I've seen are very pricey, i.e. €7 for 5 cards

Baby Blankets, Baby Bibs in bulk = to embroider!

Embroidery Thread = Saw great deals on this on ebay but the mailing charges were horrendous!

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions!

Threads of Green in Kilkenny have the embroidery backing http://www.threadsofgreenfabrics.com/shop/index.php?cPath=74_80
    its under haberdashery - interfacings.

Blank cards - well I have a stack of them, cream and white, square with about a 2" apature. If they are still in good condition -I havent looked at them for ages - I would gladly part with a few. You would need to get envelopes but there is a square envelope that fits them, I think I got envelopes from a firm in Kilkenny, but I haven't many left. Try http://www.koverto.ie/index.php PM me if any of that is of interest.

Embroidery threads - there is a fairly reasonable bulk pack available which you can get in craft stores, though I can't be specific. They are not as good as the best - Coates etc - but they are ok and I have used them a good bit.
Try this firm, www.heart-educational.com or http://www.specialistcrafts.ie/

    Hi.

I have most of that stuff but they're not listed on my website yet (apart from pack of embroidery skeins).
If you like, I'll contact you tomorrow when I get to work and can double-check my prices and give you an estimated postage cost?

    Hi there,
Have you tried Silke's One Stop Art & Stationary Shop on Catherine Street - they have a fairly decent craft section at the back of the shop with all craft supplies - I'd say they would definately have the blank cards etc.
The Singer Shop in Fox Box Lane used to do DMC embroidery thread - not sure if they still stock it though.

And have you tried the Limerick Quilt Centre on Park Road? They definately have the tear away-stabiliser and also stock all quilting fabric & supplies.

    Thanks for the replies!

Millypenny.....never knew the quilt centre existed! Am off there now!

Silkes do have some aperture cards, but they are a bit small, am looking for cards that are A5 when folded with quiet a big aperture.:D
