Marked plastered ceiling

    I recently had a water leak in the old bungalow i bought a number of years ago.The leak that was in the attic is now fixed but i have a horrible water mark left on the ceiling,what should i do to cover the mark is painting enough or is there a special primer i need to use. Any advice
    appreciated.

    I'm sure there are special paints available. Some experienced Painter might give you advice here.

    I had a similar problem a few years ago. Emulsion was no good, as the stain kept coming back, so I painted the brown stain with white gloss paint. It worked a treat. Give it a go.:)

    get a spray on stain blocker in any diy paint section, works perfectly.

    just seal it with a primer (unibond, evostik etc) and re-emulsion.
