Just wondering if anyone can help me, I am looking for something for the weekends. I seen a 1982 380 SLC and think there a nice motor. Can you please give me a ball park figure say price for low end and high end well looked after. I dont have a very big budget but am trying to gauge the value of these motors. I dont mind a motor that is in need of some work but it mech sound. Also can you help me with tips when viewing, what should I look out for and so on. I did see a 1979 450SLC for €1000 but this has to be a crock for that.

    Thanks in advance

This the €1000 "crock" you were talking about:

Looks like it's definitely worth a punt.
Might be interested in it myself if the interior and engine are good.

slight o/t....but that has to be the worst organised car website I've ever visited.......

    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

    Hi jimbobjones40

dont think thats the same one, the one I saw was advertised in local garage for €1500 but when I called he said a grand. But after speaking to the guy it seems to have a lot of rust. What do you think of the 380SLC on the same website for €3450.

What do you think of the 380SLC on the same website for €3450.
You'll have a couple of years savage motor tax on that before it's eligible for the cheap rate.

If you take that into account with the price, you should pick up an already sorted, pre-1980 SLC for that money.

I'd also be concerned when the vendor doesn't show interior shots!
