Any large high gain outdoor wideband UHF aerial will work in Dublin when used with a high gain masthead amp for you in the attic for Irish dtt which will be called Saorview from October 31 or the analogue reception. I have a cheap weak tinny Konig UE 31 element UHF aerial( sold as an 87 Element Ultra High Gain aerial on ebay.co.uk) in the attic with a great signal here in Swords for both digital and analogue. My masthead amp is the FTE Maximal M1000 made in Spain with a maximum gain of 40db, a Vision masthead power supply is used to power it.:) Hirschmann is a good make of an aerial. A large stronger high gain Group A aerial with a high gain group A masthead amp high above the roof and well amplified should pull in Divis Freeview towards the end of 2012 for you also and last up to three decades once installed correctly. Fracarro, Triax, Blake and Hirschmann make large high gain aerials. Watty and a few others could advise you on what other makes to go for.

Do you want to try for UK stations or the Irish ones? If it's just in an attic I would assume it's the RTE ones:)

Any aerial will work to a point with analogue if there's no big obstacles immediately in your way to the south. For a decent analogue signal, getting a wideband "grid aerial" (indeed they're all wideband from what I've seen sold) would probably be a minimum in the attic, though having it in the attic instead of outside will make a very substantial difference, and ghosting is more likely in an attic too.

I wouldn't bother with a masthead and amp at first as you can always add them later if you want to serve more TVs off the aerial or if the signal is particularly grainy.

Make sure you use sat grade type (sometimes called RG6) cable, at least, for the installation!

Good value for aerials can be had on the internet though I'm not particularly up to speed on where to get them.

A cheapo contract aerial will work fine in Artane for three rock, I setup one for my parents last month, no amp, signal perfect.

For analogue or just digital? A bent coathanger would probably work for digital in an attic in Artane. (Once again, provided there's no big building like an apartment block in the way to the south)
