    Hi all,

I'll be away for just 4 days at the end of the month, however my sign on day is one of the days I'll be away.

I know you're able to apply for 2 weeks holidays while on benifit, however if I do this, will my 2 weeks allocation be taken up even though I'll only be away for 4 days? Or would I be allowed to take another 10 days later in the year?

It works on weeks not days so you'll have one week holidays left.

You're allowed 12 days hols in the year, which can be taken in days.Just let them know this week its only for 4 days and you will have to sign on again the day after you get back...to prove you're here!

Where do people get this advice from?

If you are missing on your signing day but have a decent excuse, then you will be excused for that day. It should be fine, but they may ask you to sign on weekly because of this.

Your 2 weeks won't be taken up. You can take 12 days a year holidays, not including Sundays.

Just in relation to Holidays, the normal procedure would be to fill in the form they give you,

However, i was signing on today and the person was having a discussion with the lady at the hatch, To cut a long story short, he had gone on holiday after putting in the holiday form. She then told him that there are 10,000 people signing on in the area i am in, with only 30 staff and that there was nobody to process the holiday forms.

If you are going on holiday, and intend on filling out a for, best ask them are they going to be processing the form first.
