    Hey all,

This is probably just me being too used to windows laptops, But I'm having an issue with my late 2009 white Macbook( Macbook 6,1).

Anyway I've google it a lot and it seems there are no known issues so it's making me think it's just me...

Something the touch pad stops working and I have to lift my finger off it and put it back on, it seems as if there's dirt or something on the touch pad..?

Is there anyway to clean it, or has someone experienced this issues?

    Thanks

I think there's a setting inside the Trackpad Preferences Pane that disables that. I think the trackpad stops as long as you're pressing keys on the keyboard, the setting is called "Prevent accidental trackpad input". Try turning that off and see if there's any change.

Is it possible that without realising it your thumb is touching the bottom of the pad? I use to do this a lot when I first starting using it.

Ok, I just found out that the option I was on about has since been removed and is enabled by default. I really do think that's what it is though, if you're pressing the keys the trackpad becomes unresponsive.

Alright, After using this on the train, me and a friend I can say it's still definetly an issue, and althought It's not major it's slightly irritating and as it's still in warranty should I get it repaired?

How would I go about doing this?

Ok, you have to take it to an Apple Authorised Service Provider. I don't think there are any in Kerry, but there are 2 of them in Cork.

Here's a map, if the MacBook is in warranty they should do everything free of charge.
