Wine Retailers On-Licence

    Hey guys,

Just looking for a bit of help on this particular licence so if anyone has any info on it, that would be great.

Basically I am wondering what this consists of. ie. Do I need to serve food with this licence as is the case with the "special restaurant licence"? and also do I need any other licence to operate with it?

I am looking into opening a small (probably very small) cafe/bar with the purpose of serving some food (all be it a small selection) ,craft beers and good wineand good coffee! No spirits.
The focus would be the both food and alcohol so I would like to have a bar where one could come in and have a beer or glass of wine and not HAVE to order a meal as with the "special restaurant licence".

Basically I can't afford a pub licence (who can!) and am looking for something close enough to a bar type thing.

    Any help would be great.

Hi Steve, I'm looking into the exact same thing at the moment. I found this site which explains the difference licenses. I don't think there is any obligation to serve food with the "Wine Retailers On-Licence" but I could be wrong

I'm still trying to find the required forms to apply to the circuit court so if anybody can help with that I'd appreciate it
