O'Neill's Tracksuit Bottoms

At least several years ago, O'Neill's tracksuit bottoms were available with the zip at the heel.

In recent years, for what reason I have no idea, they redesigned the tracksuit bottoms, placing the zip on the inside leg. It's an extremely impractical design as the tracksuit cannot comfortably sit over the footwear.

Has anybody seen the 'old style' tracksuit bottoms anywhere in recent times?

I got a pair of tracksuit bottoms in January 2009 with the zip on the heel rather than on the inside leg. I was given them as part of a team uniform, so I didn't actually go out and buy them, but I did see similar pairs of tracksuit bottoms in Elvery's in Dundrum a few months ago.

If you're looking for something without zips on the inside, you could try something like these, or just head into Elvery's and see what they have.

    Thanks for your reply.

They look pretty good. Yes, I must call in and have a look as it has been over a year since I actively looked for tracksuit bottoms of that style.

The ones with the zip on the side are the old ones. The ones you're looking for are the women's ones I do believe. I know the Elvery's in Maynooth definitely had them so I'm presuming they're in most Elvery's stores but check the women's section.

Lol, oh really? Hmmm.. What is the distinction, if any, other than the label 'women's'??

Um, the waistband is thinner i think and they're a lower rise. That's pretty much it. Oh, and the leg length is ridiculously short! I only ever saw one pair with a back zip that weren't specifically women's which were my sister's but they had a mesh on the inside and always were static-y and clung to your legs, not nice!

The back zip def comes in the mens & womens ones, I used to buy the mens xs ones to get the long leg, the next time I just bought the biggest outta the kids cos they were longer than the womens & the last pair I bought were on sale to 15euro in the womens and they don't have the skinny waist band or the stupid short legs.

Was Jan this year I was in lifestyle ( a couple of them) and saw the back heel zips, but I do think that Elvery's carry a larger selection of them.

Excellent, I'll start keeping an eye out so.

Ah no doubt the posters above are from the backs of beyonds because its only people from the sticks that wear and think o neil gear is nice. Its the uniform of the G.A.A

The guys in the rugby jersey ,blue jeans and brown shoes annoy me more though.

Johnnyjb, helpful comments are appreciated on this forum. OP did not ask for your opinion on how to wear them.

Did you bother reading the posts or are you just trolling for something to whinge about?? Where did the OP say they were nice, you ever stop to think that some of us might just prefer O'Neills as fitness clothing, for sports, gym etc as it's more durable and long wearing. Me I prefer O'Neills for the gym. No one asked for your thoughts on the appearance of the garment.

You should ring them up and ask. http://www.oneills.com/index.php They have a factory store where you can buy things from.

I remember them having the side zip first, the heel zip was a newer thing afaik.

Yep, all my O'Neill's are at least three years old and they have side zips. Haven't seen any with heel zips but they don't sound as if they'd sit as well over your shoes as a side zip imo.

There is an O'Neills factory shop in Dublin on the Longmile Road that sell old and new stock, I'm sure you'd get them in there and at a much cheaper price!

Yeah I was out in Walkinstown [Long Mile Road] about 2 weeks ago and they have loads out there. €30 iirc.
