USA - Ireland Customs question

Hi Everyone, A friend in USA is buying a laptop for me and sending it over. ive told her to take it out of the box and pretent it was mine and i just left it over there when i was visiting 2 months ago. Do i need to mark the box so i wont have to pay customs tax or just to avoid any general issues. Thanks
