Why do you want to use sunbeds? Haven't you heard they are very bad for your health and you can get skin cancer? Are you aware Health Minister, Mary Harney is introducing legislation banning them?

Just use a fake tan or whatever, but stay clear of sunbeds.

    Not true:
She said the proposed Public Health (Sunbeds) Bill would include a ban on the use of sunbeds by under 18 year-olds; a ban on the sale or hire of sunbeds to anyone under 18 and a ban on the use of sunbeds in unsupervised premises. The new legislation would also require the placing of warning signs in sunbed premises and warning labels on the sunbeds.

Am so sick of these kind of replies. The op asked for opinions on which place to go to. not a lecture off you. the sun, smoking there all equally as bad. it's the op's choice.

Chartbusters is Swords village do them. They had stand up and lie down. Lie downs are more expensive ( €1 per minute) but will get you a better colour. :)

Maybe the OP genuinely hasnt heard the most recent advice about sunbeds.

Of course its the Op's choice, but would you recommend the best place to throw yourself off a bridge if they were looking for somewhere to go, or the best way to start smoking if thats what they were interested in without saying anything?

Please stay on topic. Start a new thread if you really want to discuss the effects of sunbeds.

The biggest problem in Ireland's sunbeds is that bulbs are NOT REPLACED IN TIME!

I was using sunbeds for few years in my origin country. And before you go to new sunbed you have right to ask how often the bulbs are changed. And even you can look at the documents where is all info: when bulbs are changed, after how many hours they have to be replaced and etc. You can find on sunbed "watch" (sorry dont know how to call it) how many hours it was working it total from the day bulbs was changed.

Now i live in Ireland. I decided to use sunbed. After i asked when bulbs was changed i got answer that this is bulbs which dont have to be changed to often. Last they was changed more than two years ago. Ok. Today i checked bulbs name, done search at home on internet. And you know what? They have to be changed after NO MORE than 800 hours work (all bulbs have to be changed after 500 - 1200 hours work depending on brand and power and there is no bulbs that can work all life (yes, they will work, but you will definitely be in big big risk of getting cancer)). These 800 hours is just 2hours sunbed work every day in one year time. And allmoust all sunbeds are used more that this.

And what can i do now? Stop using sunbed? Oh yes. But what more? What about the responsibility of beauty salon owners? I was trying to find on google any companies which can come to sunbed salon and check the condition of bulbs but i cant find anything. It seems like the salon owners can do whatever they want and there is nothing to do about it. What is wrong with this country?

    (And sorry for my english)

Sorry for reviving an old thread. But had anyone and insight into when builds should be changed. Should you be allowed use a subbed when there are bulbs gone?
Also the bed has reduced from 15 min to 12 mins as the beautician says it needs to be serviced?
    Advise welcome
