Selling online to Ireland!

Alright.. So I am based out here in North East Asia and am keen to sell some products to Irish consumers amongst others. I see big potential to ship goods etc to consumers/distributors/retailers in Ireland who are willing to purchase..
The range of products I am hoping to sell is quite big..

I will be starting with small quantity selling but am quite confident of shipping in bulk with time.. (all going well)

I am Irish so this helps..regarding the Irish market.
I have access to good quality, reliable and cheap products here through suppliers etc..

Now, I'm hoping to get stuff advertised on EBAY and Amazon but how can I target the Irish market more specifically?
I had a look on www.auction.ie which seems a great site to do this but there are hardly any listings..and fewer bids..though it's all free

Are there any good websites/auction sites etc that would make it easier for a person such as me to advertise and sell quality products to people in Ireland?

Plenty of views but no replies yet :(

Ok..maybe I should make the question broader...

Has anybody had experience of selling products to Irish consumers/ retailers etc from overseas?

Any tips or recommendations and what would be the pros/cons of such a venture??

Any useful information would be great..

I used to have a dropshipping website but to be honest people did not really like waiting 14~21 days for stuff to arrive.
Make sure you use a decent postal service.

What are the products? It may not make sense to try importing products to Ireland tht can be got cheaper and quicker here already

It definitely depends on the type product, the price and the size of the target market.
Who are your competitors? Do they manufacture in Ireland or do the Import?
It might be worth looking at their distribution network and see if you can leverage off of them. If not, it will still give you some ideas.

Just remember, the Irish market is very small and if you are considering other markets, Ireland may not be the best place to start.

At the moment.. I am going to start small..

I am going to focus on-

    Art Works-
    Clothes Apparel
    Stationary- Kids/Office/Education

    and possibly skin care..

I have some good contacts with suppliers of the above products (except skin care, but can get that product cheaply here and in very good quality too)..

Anyway, I am going to test out a good few products and just see where I am at after that..

Just I know I could sell these products to Irish customers if they had trust in the system and my offers... A lot of stuff is cheaper than back home..
    That's for sure..including shipping etc!

i tried something very similar to this around 18 months ago and it didnt work for me but TBh i didnt give it 100% because i was working on 2 other businesses at the same time

its incredidibly hard to compete with ebay powersellers ,esp the ones operating out of countries with low overheads

they can sell products for next to nothing and people are tight with their cash thesedays so price is as big a factor as it ever was when people are making buying decisions

I think your best plan of action is to source the products you think will do well and will be in demand at good price and team up with a partner over here who will run the site and distribution while you source the goods.

Im sure there are plenty of people that would kill to have a source in Asia. Maybe a friend or family member might be interested.
