Looking to buy a new laptop on a 300-450 euro budget. Found this offer today on elara... wondering if anyone has the same/similar laptop and whether its recommended? Im liking the 3 Gb RAM cos im big into football manager and I have AutoCAD, nova point software that takes up alot of memory, plus my 1Gb RAM Compaq Presario is on its last legs!

    Thanks

I would advise AGAINST buying any hp laptop products.
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Display-and-video/hp-dv9500-screen-problem/m-p/33766 - have a look.

I bought a 1000 euro+ top of the range laptop, dead within 18 months. A massive global fault with Hp laptops.
Hp refuse to acknowledge that there is a problem and knowingly sold laptops when they knew there was major problems.
Try dell, mine has lasted for years and i had to dust it off use it again, after my new HP died
So my advice steer well clear of HP, no matter how tempting they seem, i and 1000s of others learned the hard way.

On the other hand, my brother, my sister and I have all had very bad experiences with Dell laptops. Mine personally had a broken disc drive, charger, battery, wireless and bad hinges and I am VERY careful with my laptop.

I suppose your right, any laptop can break down, all that gear packed into a small case :D
But i think the HP fault takes the biscuit, nvidia even set aside something like 150million dollars for repairs etc, Apple refunded/replaced their dodgy computers, but HP are still trying to charge 100s to replace the faulty motherboards with the SAME faulty motherboards.
